China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC) organised a road show in the city for attracting Gujarati business community to the 106th session of the Canton Fair, to be held in Guangzhou from October 15 to November 4.
Addressing the participants of the road show last evening, Ms Liu Bihua, Deputy Director of Foreign Liason Department said that the Canton Fair, which has won international fame as China's No.1 fair for the longest history since its inception in 1957, has the most complete exhibit variety, biggest buyer attendence, broadest buyer distribution and the greatest business turnover.
She said in face of the current economic downturn and future uncertainity, only creating business opportunities will be an effective measure to meet the challenges and move ahead.
Ms Bihua said that in the past 105 sessions, 395 enterprises from 36 countries participated, in which 47 enterprises were from India. Canton Fair is the best platform for those who are in the export and import business, she added.
She said the 106th Canton Fair session will continue to maintain the exhibition mode of three phases and each phase will last for five days. The first phase starts from October 15, second from October 23 and phase three will commence from October 31.
She said after the first road show at Ahmedabad, CFTC delegation will hold similar shows at Pune and Chennai on July 29 and July 30 respectively.
