The 50-story seven-star luxury Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel, scheduled to open in 2011, will be located in Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town CBD. Four Burj Al Arab hotel apartments will be built nearby, connected to the hotel by an "air corridor".

Recently Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company, signed the project with GT Land Holdings Limited. In addition to the luxury hotel, GT Land plans to build a 170,000 square meter Seasons Mall for luxurious brands, as well as a 110,000 square meter commercial office building with eight public elevators and eight "special" elevators reserved for CEO's.
To insure quality VIP service the hotel plans to offer only 200 rooms. Different from other hotels, its hall has a "transparent" design located on the top three floors of the building. Guests must ride up in the high-speed elevator to check in, which will only take 22 seconds from ground to top floor.
"As it is well known that the Chinese market is one of the fastest developing in the world today, cooperation is crucially important to us. Guangzhou is one of three big municipalities in China and the core of South China. The demands of premium hotels are necessary," said Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman of the Jumeirah Group.
So far there are five top international luxury hotels surrounding the West Tower and East Tower, the landmark core of Zhujiang New Town, including the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the W Hotel, the Ritz Carlton, the Grand Hyatt and the St. Regis Hotel.
It is expected that in the coming two to three years Zhujiang New Town will become a concentrated location for world famous hotel brands.
