Among the Air Quality Guarantee Team for the Beijing Olympic Games, you can find people from Guangzhou. It was reported that under the overall planning of the National Environmental Protection Department, the Guangzhou Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau has sent an 11-person work team to Beijing on July 31st. It was said that the Guangzhou Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau was the only ecdemic environmental protection department for the Beijing Olympics Air Protection.

The team consists of one leader (director of the bureau) and ten specialized personnel. After arriving in Beijing, they would participate in the Air Protection Action according to the arrangement of the Beijing Environmental Department. They will also learn advanced experience from the Beijing Olympic Games on monitoring control, industrial area combined control, information announcement and etc so as to make a good preparation for Guangzhou's Asian Games in the future.

Ding Hong, the director of Guangzhou Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau told us that 50 working measures in 7 aspects on guaranteeing the air quality of the Asian Games have been speculated in "Guangzhou Air Pollution Comprehensive Control Implementation Scheme in 2008-2010". Now the framework program of air protection for the 2010 Asian Games has been verified through the experts concerned and the research work was well under way.
