Approved by the Ministry of Commerce and National Tourism Administration, JTB (Guangzhou) Limited, located on Linhe Xi Lu of Tianhe District, initiated operations on June 13th, 2008.
JTB Group, Japan's largest, and world's second largest travel service company, and one of the world's 500 top companies, boasts a sound network all across the world. With an annual business income amounting to USD12.8 billion or more, in 2007, over 400 thousand Japanese, the largest number for all travel agencies in Japan, made trips to China through the JTB Group. So far, JTB (Guangzhou) Limited mainly deals with inbound and domestic tours without outbound tours. The establishment of JTB (Guangzhou) Limited is designed to attract more foreign tourists, thus increasing income from inbound tours.
Insiders said that although competition in the travel industry was unavoidable, cooperation is the major trend for development. Foreign counterparts can introduce advanced concepts and innovative management models to domestic operators. JTB (Guangzhou) Limited promised that the company would cooperate with other travel agencies, creating a flourishing inbound tourism market in Guangdong Province even eventually covering Southern China.
