Direct Shuttles May be Run from Foshan Airport to GZ
Foshan Airport will resume civil flights, and both Foshan and Guangzhou municipal communications bureaus are discussing running shuttles between the two cities, announced Foshan Municipal Communications Bureau yesterday.
According to the announcement, five lines will be run first, namely Foshan Bus Station to Tianhe in Guangzhou, Foshan Bus Station to Fangcun in Guangzhou, Foshan Bus Station to Guangzhou Municipal Bus Station, Foshan Zumiao Bus Station to the provincial bus station in Guangzhou and Foshan Zumiao Bust Station to Guangfo Bus Station in Guangzhou.
However, the trial shuttle services will be provided in the municipal bus station, Fangcun bus station and Luochongwei bus station in Guangzhou and Guanyao, Heshun, Pingzhou and Dali bus stations in Foshan. Thus citizens can take direct buses to Foshan (from Guangzhou) or Guangzhou (from Foshan) in those bus stations.
The next step is to provide express shuttles from Foshan Zumiao Bus Station to the newly established bus station in Panyu of Guangzhou. There will be also direct shuttles linking Nanhai, Shunde, Sanshui and Gaoming in Foshan with Guangzhou.
A representative of Foshan Municipal Communications Bureau said that, the bureau was also negotiating with other government departments to lower the costs of running the shuttle. Currently the bus ticket from Foshan to Guangzhou is about 10 to 14 yuan, and the tickets to the express shuttles are expected to be cut down to 5 to 7 yuan.
Furthermore, officials at Baiyun Airport also express their intention to provide express shuttles between the airports in both cities.
