An American exhibition zone will be set up in the Overseas Hi-Tech Production Hall of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center as a highlight of the Ninth China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), which will open Friday.
It will be the first exhibition zone the CHTF organizers have ever set up for a single country since the fair was first launched in 1999.
Covering an area of about 3,700 square meters, the exhibition zone will see display booths of more than 10 American acclaimed multinational corporations such as General Electric (GE), Motorola, Oracle, Dell, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and International Business Machines (IBM) as well as the participation of the American Embassy in Beijing, delegations from some U.S. states, and trade organizations representing American information technology industry.

To boost the cooperation and exchange between American and Chinese companies, the Sino-American Industrial and Technological Cooperation Summit Forums will also be held during the Ninth CHTF.
More than 20 foreign governments and international organizations, including Canada, Germany, Australia, Russia, Britain and the European Patent Office, will send delegations to join this year's fair.
A total of 35 of China's provinces and municipalities, the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan as well as 26 institutes of higher learning will display their high-tech projects and products during this year’s fair.
The CHTF organizers this year will continue to hold three special professional exhibitions, including the information technology and products exhibition, electronics exhibition and flat-plate display boards exhibition, to attract more exhibitors and professional buyers.
The information technology and products exhibition, which has been held consecutively for the past eight years, has attracted more than 400 companies from home and abroad. (Newman Huo)
