An oil tanker exploded by a hit of a trailer full of concrete piles in the aftermath of four vehicles shunted into one another near Kumen Bridge, Dongguan City. 1 was seriously burned and 6 were killed, including 3 traffic emergency staffs died outright in the explosion, Guangzhou Daily reports.

The accident occurred in the early morning on October 5. An oil tanker has broken down and called for evacuation from Kumen Bridge emergency center. When the 3 workers were repairing under the tanker, a trailer suddenly struck through the road-block caution plates, hitting the tail of the tanker and caused explosion.
The fire has soon spread over hundreds of meters on the bridge, accompanied with another two explosions and thick smoke.
Emergency workers and police sprayed foam and water for fire control and cooling. At 9:00, the twisted and scorched wreckage had been hanged away. Until 12:10, the scene was completely cleaned up, and the blocking road returned to normal.
