The local government states that Guangzhou will further develop its railway and subway system to connect the city with Dongguan and Shenzhen in future.

According to the railway and subway transportation plan approved by the government, Metro No. 4, No.5 and No.7 will all reach Luogang.

Guangzhou City Planning Bureau told reporters that the connection with Guagnzhou-Dongguan Intercity transportation has been taken into consideration during the construction of Metro No.5.
